So Ive pretty much come to the conclusion Im never going to be able to play fast. Before the comments start, I get that there is far more to being a musician than playing fast, but it would be nice to put the odd passage in there. Ive tried everything I can think of... Alternate picking, on line lessons, metronome and drum machine, changing my picking style, scales, speed drills, arpeggios... And I dont mean for a couple of months. Ive been playing for 30 years now. For some reason I cant seem to coordinate both hands together at over 110 beats per minute. Heres the thing though, its only when changing strings. If I play legato, Im cool playing at about 180 bpm. Picking on one string I can play comfortably at 140 bpm. The second I have to change strings (when picking) Im farked. Anyone... What am I missing here? My left hand works, my right hand works on one string... Seriously WTF? Anyone???
