So Ive seen a campaign to boycott Coca-Cola circulating yet again. Here are a few thoughts to consider. 1: This is NOT our national anthem so if you plan to boycott a business at least get your facts straight morons. 2: How exactly is celebrating the diverse heritage of our country by showcasing the very inalienable truth that every single person who is offended by this ad literally has a heritage based in country or countries other than the United States? 3: The United States has no official language. In fact, under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, it can be considered discriminatory to fail to provide access to government services or information to individuals with limited English proficiency. 4: 60 million people in the U.S. speak a language other than English at home. This means that for every 5 people watching the Superbowl, at least 1 was probably speaking a language that wasnt English. In fact, many viewers were watching in another language too, thanks to the first-ever Spanish-language Superbowl broadcast. In fact there are 381 languages that are commonly spoken within U.S. borders. The most popular are Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Arabic, per the latest American Community Survey data. 5: Many of the founding fathers were multilingual. John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Monroe, and John Quincy Adams all spoke multiple languages. In fact, of 44 American presidents, at least half could speak or write a language other than English. 6: There are only two Koch products you should be worried about in this country they go by the names Charles and David and they basically run the Republican party and do not have your interests at heart and if you think the Tea Party is still a grass roots movement then all hope is truly lost for you.
