So, I’m off to the seaside for a few days but before I go I just want to reflect on recent events. As you all know, two professional and popular organisations within the paranormal field have both revealed separations from KB and Most Haunted. One of them simply posting a link to a press release as was his professional duty which included the news that MH had been sold to the U.S as informed by KB; and the other posting in order to announce officially and to explain to a confused public his reasons for choosing to separate himself and his organisation from MH. Despite previous problems associated with MH, Si’s choice to move on and concentrate on his music has resulted in a lovely page that can boast no fall outs, arguments or childish rants; it has always respected every members choice to be a fan of what and who they wish, MH included, and the posts re MH simply stuck to the facts. I’m proud of how those involved have dealt with the frankly un professional and befuddling responses to their recent revelations; there has been slating, denial and accusations from camp KB directed their way when all they have done is simply state facts. I just want those that support KB to think about how all of this has gone down. He and his MH have been previously supported by all of those that he now brands ‘liars’, ‘fools’, ‘haters’ etc ..etc. All of those that have separated from him have done so wishing him well and walking away, but in the rear view mirror have seen nothing but spite coming back at them. It really is ridiculous. The fact of the matter is this. Karl writes and says things; makes promises or statements that either he doesn’t back up or never come to fruition, but rather than apologise or explain properly he would rather deny ever saying them or make accusations. He is playing a dangerous game as imo he seems to forget that he isn’t that big a star anymore; that people CAN and will stick to the facts and defend themselves using his own words against him and that controversy might be a good thing when you are top of your game, but when you are trying to re-launch an extremely damaged brand it really cannot do you any favours. The world really doesn’t revolve around Mr Beattie; we have all supported him faithfully and to this day I am grateful of the past contribution he made to paranormal programming; but it really isn’t the case that every supporter wants something from him; wants to ride on his coat tails, or use the MH brand to their own gain…because in honesty those that do really do hold themselves up to a lot of ridicule and criticism and they repeatedly put up with it because they genuinely believe in what he was trying to do. MH has provided us all with subjects for discussion, it was British, and it was entertaining, and Mr Beattie appears so friendly to the public that it really is no surprise that he has faithful followers who are willing to put up with constantly being fobbed off; ignored and even to forgive his broken promises. I don’t hold their opinions against them but I will say this; there can be support for MH without hate directed at those who have nothing to gain from simply telling the truth, it isn’t always an attack on MH, it’s sometimes just the way things go and with an endless and diverse list of people that have separated themselves from MH after initially showing it real dedication and contributing to its success, it should be obvious to joe public that there are two sides to every story - please remember it was an entertainment show and those that run it are primarily business people, if you remember this you can distance yourself and not get hurt. No one should need or seek the validation or approval of anyone that has made a name for themselves in any field; enjoy the wide variety of paranormal programming, your events and your magazines and don’t take any of it too seriously; your moral boundaries are your own; we are all allowed to agree with people on some things and entirely dis agree on others without it meaning anything, and the level at which you choose to cut someone or something off because they have crossed a line is your own choice and you shouldn’t be influenced by anyone, but be HONEST and if you have said or written something that is mis-leading or turns out to be false such as: Karl Beattie:- We are at present in discussion with three UK broadcasters, one USA broadcaster, four internet providers and four sponsors. We will only do a deal that allows everyone to watch the show worldwide. As we now have control we do not have the constraints we used to have to put up with and can put the show on whatever platform we choose, if we cannot make a deal that is fair for ALL the viewers we will simply fund and make it ourselves for the internet. We will NOT sell you guys out no matter what, you will be able to see it in the USA and thats a promise.
