So I’ve been thinking about this for awhile. There seems to be a lot of people who would like to play Modern, and since modern has a BIT of a initial cost to get into I wanted to run this by you guys and get an idea if it was worth looking into. I was looking for something like a league of some sorts, where on a set day every week we meet up and play (depending on how many people round robin, or swiss) the decks can be proxied 0-100% this is just to get us started and our feet wet to see if we can have real tournaments with real decks. I for one would put towards my deck if I knew that we could every week have a real tournament. However with proxy tournaments we cannot sanction them through DCI, so I was thinking a buy in of 3 dollars and we just manually keep track of points and records throughout the season (my initial idea was a season is a month, at the end of the season split the money amongst the top points (depending on how many people we get). When it comes to points I’m not entirely sure, since this is a proxy league and not A LOT of money is up for grabs was thinking of rewarding 4 pts – 2-0 3 pts – 2-1 2 pts – 1-1-1 1 pts – 1-2 0 pts – 0-2 We could talk about Proxy Quality, but I don’t think it needs to be said.. Gabe your proxied modern deck isnt readable, would have to reproxy making it legible and have Name CMC Abilities P/T (or Loyalty) Since some of us will not know what a certain card does, would not like to spend time establishing what card does what online. Anyways I was looking for more ideas, a good day to do this I think would be Saturday like 1? That way we’re not there all night and can go about our day on Saturday. If you are interested in this let me know, if ya have any suggestions let me know. All input would be nice. I know Kauffman has a few Modern Decks, and expressed interest in doing something like this when we talked on Saturday.
