So Mission Coast 2 Coast was a complete success! In 2 days I managed to do two #spartanrace events one of which on the West coast in San Francisco and then the next one being here in my back yard up in Amesbury, MA completing all of this while flying stand by! Friday my day started at 430 am est to attempt to catch an 8 am direct flight out of Boston to SF. I was unable to get on that flight because it was totally booked. The next flight I could catch was a direct flight at 4 pm...so I waited, even though it was not looking good I managed to snag the last seat on the flight and off to San Fran I went. I got to the hotel around 9 pm pacific time and went right to bed. Saturday....Me and Tough Training himself got up to take on a Spartan Race that him and I both love...A stadium sprint! The race was tight but I managed to flip flop from 2nd to 3rd throughout the whole race and finished up with a 2nd place finish! My goal of a podium finish was completed! I then went to take a quick look at the Golden Gate bridge and then headed back to the airport for a 10 pm red eye flight back to Boston which would get me into Boston at 650 am on Sunday, If I did not get on this flight not only would I miss the Amesbury race, I would be sleeping in the airport!! I managed to get on that red eye with ease, flew all through the night on just a few small slices of pizza and got into Boston at 645. Then it was off to the races ( see what I did there?) I had just about an hr to get from Logan to Amesbury...Thanks to my awesome girlfriend being on time and with all my gear in tow we made it to Amesbury with about 10 min to spare. The race went well I knew I would not have alot in the tank since I was working on practically no sleep, minimal food, slight jet lag, and no warm up but I still pushed myself. I think at the end of the day I took an 8th place finish with a less than stellar performance (I fell off the traverse wall :/) but I am happy and lucky to have been able to take part in that experience. Does anyone know if there is anyone else out there that has gone coast to coast in 2 days for 2 different spartan races??
