So, Neil DeGrasse Tyson just horrified me… Humanity shares somewhere over 98% with a chimp. Within that 1-2% is the Hubble Telescope, Quantum Theory, Literature, Symphonies, etc. We look at ourselves as being so incredibly more intelligent than chimps, at best they can do sign language. What would happen if another species existed with a 3-4% difference over chimps? What would we be? As he put it, the questions of dark matter would be the things of children for a species so advanced. A 1% difference is all it would take. Not so special anymore, are we?
