So a bit of a report: Well it was a well attended Council - TopicsExpress

So a bit of a report: Well it was a well attended Council Consultation meeting tonight in Wee Waa for those who dont know it is part of the Narrabri Shire. They have one in each community each year last one was 2012. As far as the meeting goes, they have passed the buck to have an ombudsman handle questions. They are all a pretty ordinary bunch of Councillors and probably the worst yet, which has been mentioned many times before so I am not on my own here. The GM said she would pass our resolution on to the government for us. Along with any other questions we had that could not be answered. Sounded promising or was it will see. Very few felt it would be done. Also asked perhaps some surveys should be done. Hopefully she will go back and find our road declarations showing 99% of the community west does not want CSG. That will be interesting as she seemed to not know anything about them. They all got hot under the collar when we told them they were not accepted. Also got hot under the collar when asked where they all were last Thursday for the public meeting at the Crossing Theatre. Said they were at other meetings and prior engagements, very much on the defensive. As for when asked why they could not support the communities views on CSG. They said it was a state matter. Then why did they get involved in the first place. Mm..... They did say they would look into the doctor and the fact we only have one 3 days a week. They would look into the lagoon being filled and a leak at the town water tower. Every question that was asked other then CSG was going to be looked into. M..... One person stood and said we had a better chance of being protected by the Moree Council. The Mayor stood and spoke, sounded like a true representative of Santos and the National party. Mm.. Did not impress many in the room except his staunch supporters although they are dwindling at a rapid rate. They mentioned Andrew Stoner fast tracking and asked why they dont slow the process down. The council were warned to be careful and not take the attitude that it can be fixed with money after the damage is done, fancy that when the company is gone who will fix the problem. You cant fix a broken aquifer once its gone its gone. Was mentioned. Fancy being in a room with so many people who do not have the fondness that others have for you. Perhaps his red face was a sign of stress. Wearing to many hats and getting confused with them all. Am I representing the Nats today. Santos tomorrow or the LLS. or maybe even the council today. Or maybe visiting my farm, and will I have time for my family as well or will I go to the pub and have a few beers with my mate. How are those planes? It does get a bit confusing. Of course. So confusing. He could not help himself. Must be under his skin. A pathetic attempt at being a real Wally. He joined our group that was talking afterwards. After linking eyes and staring, he proceeded to to say we should have more of these meetings dont you think, so people can come out from behind their computers walking out the door to give his heart another jolt and his lungs another puff of smoke. Not good for his health at all. I then took another person with me to ask if he was referring to me. He said he was. I said I would report him, not really a Mayors roll, to have a go at his voters. Although, I am not one of his voters. Hardly worth it. A waste of my time. Not much of a quip. Seeing, I had clearly said nothing to antagonize him. Certainly a man under pressure. To many meetings, clearly feeling uncomfortable. His red face showed the strain. What is our community concern, is that, if he has done nothing wrong, then clearly. He should not be worried, having a go at one of his constituents for a second time clearly shows he is worried and perhaps has done something that is not quite right. Everything comes to those who wait. Perhaps he saw one of the stickers of the new movement in the Shire.
