So a few people have asked me why I am writing under a pen name, heres why: for starters, Ive wanted to be an author for a very long time and Ive always fantasized about having a pen name. Considering Im not the first author to do this I dont think its that strange ... George Orwell, Anne Rice, Lewis Carroll, Agatha Christie -- all pen names. I guess for me, theres just something romantic about the secrecy factor. Theres also the fact that I am a woman and when I married I changed my name, so perhaps writing under a pen name is not such a big stretch because of this, because Im already used to going by a different name. Then theres the fact that I just really like the name Hunter and that for years I idolized Hunter S. Thompsons style. Actually, for many years, before I became published, my pen name was always going to be Laine Deloraine, but now I think that name is better suited to be a future character in a book that I will one day write.
