So a friend of mine posted on FB this morning, that next Wednesday, September 10th, is World Suicide Prevention Day. I had never heard of it, but having lost an aunt and my bother to suicide, I am certainly aware that there are people all around us who are hurting. Sometimes we know it, sometimes we dont. Regardless, as Christ followers, we are called to be encouragers; to offer a smile, a hug, a prayer, a simple God loves you, and so do I. Women of Faith speaker and author Barbara Johnson put it this way, Someone you know is crossing a desert in her life and can use a drink of cold water. In the deserts of life, hearts shrivel up. We cant let others dehydrate from neglect. Find your own unique way to share a word of encouragement today. Someone you know needs it! Jesus said, If anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward. Matthew 10:42. Dear Lord, I pray for all those who are crossing a desert in their life. Open my eyes to see them, and open my heart to share a cup of cold water/encouragement with them in Your name. Amen.
