So a friend posted an image of her kid on her FB page. Everyone is ranting about how good it is. The photo is badly over-exposed. I went to the photographers website. Every image on the webpage looked awful to me. Same thing~ washed out look on all the images. In my days of working in my dads camera store, I would have told a customer he got bad film, had his images looked like this. Is this what everyone really wants? Washed out looking images and calling it creative? I simply call it an amateur going pro, that never learned how to read a light meter. I simply think it is a sad day when bad photography passes as Creativity. I have seen other photographers take a good image and manipulate it in Photoshop to look over exposed and washed out to attain the look. To me, thats like buying a restored Corvette Stingray, and repainting the car with spray paint cans.
