So a guy was preaching the word of god today in the quad and I asked him why he was hating everybody in he crowd and he read something and said god hates people because we are sinners. I then responded saying he hates the sin not the sinner. He then asked me what makes me a Christian. I said that I believe with all my heart that Jesus is OUR savior and that he died for OUR SINS. he then read a verse to me out of his bible saying that Jesus said to hate and give up everything. I then said that may be his interpretation, but god is a loving and forgiving god who sent his son to die for us. And that Jesus preached love not hate. He then said I was not a Christian, and I was being a false prophet... And that god hates all that sin... Should one who calls himself a Christian really preach hate? NO! Should one who reads scripture mold it into his own words and preach his interpretation of a book written by man? And most importantly, should he pass judgment on those who have different views then him? Or should he try and bring them to Christ?
