So a new charge showed up on my electricity bill this month. It was labeled DSIM Charge.....So I decided to investigate. The language in the link is a bit complex, but I am here to explain whats being said to all who dont care, or dont have the time to read the document explaining this charge. In a nutshell this is what it means. The DSIM charge covers the cost of energy-efficiency programs established as a result of the Missouri Energy Efficiency Investment Act. So those cute little informative energy efficiency sheets you get in the mail are costing you $0.00398 per kWh used. So this month I used 417kWh, and if we multiply that by 0.00398 we get $1.65. Theses charges supposedly go to fund other parts of the mandatory energy efficiency act, but to make it look like they are actually doing something, they send out these stupid little sheets to let people know how much power they are using in comparison to their neighbor. I can tell you with complete conviction, I do not give a hoot how much power I am using in comparison to my neighbor. SO STOP WAISTING MY MONEY AND MAKE ELECTRICITY CHEAPER! #kcpl
