So a very interesting thing happened at Temple today. A man who visited our Temple last week for an event read something in our Shabbat prayer book. This man was not Jewish, and what he read was so interesting and meaningful that he wanted to come back and read it again. He was referring to the Maimonides 8 Levels of Tzedakah. It was his lucky day because our Rabbinic Intern Alli Cohen was here and spent a few minutes talking with him about that and about the Jewish belief of the afterlife. What does this say about our Temple and the Jewish faith? To me, it says that we are an open and inviting place where anyone can come and learn, and it means that the Jewish faith is interesting and people want to learn specific things about it.
