So a wee while back I decided to donate a little something to a Unicef appeal. In the last 2 days I have now received 5 phone calls from Unicef, begging me to set up monthly direct debit donations. I have 5 times told them I am not interested in doing so, and prefer to spread donations across charities when I donate, and not to have a contractual agreement to donate each month. The one phoning right now even had the cheek to say the charities I donate to are not as important as this current Unicef campaign. I do not disagree with charity, but I have no time for charities who will attempt to harass and try and force me into a donation, and try to tell me I am not a very charitable and caring person. From now on I will ensure that I never, ever donate a single penny to a Unicef campaign again, and will refuse to recognise them as a decent charitable organisation. Disgusting tactics, from an organisation apparently trying to do good in the world.
