So after 5 long hours at the follow up clinic; I received good, bad and frightening concerns. Dominic is below the 1st percentile overall hes still 23 long and weighs 11lbs 12oz. His body proportions are good with how long an heavy he is. They say hes about the size of 1 month old still. He is delayed with some motor skills an has no interest on baring weight standing on his feet. Hes good with pulling himself up, hanging on to his feet and handling toys/bottle. Also been signed up for physio and occupational therapy to help him meet his milestones! Hooray finally got the go head to start but we have to come into clinic as they dont do home visits where we live. While the doctor assessed Dominic she noticed he still sounds a bit wheezy and crackly while breathing sounding a bit wet. His oxygen saturations were 75-82 and his heart rate was 107-112bpm. Also feeling his stomach she addressed concerns of his liver doubling in size.. This is a sign of heart failure he will be seen by his cardiologist within 2 weeks time to figure out what the next step is, its believed his heart is working a bit harder than average. The reason could be that he is beginning to out grow his PA band and needs his Glenn Procedure but his lungs need to be mature enough or things could easily go down hill. That being said I was told to prepare for possible earlier than expected surgical heart catheterization and if the pressures are high in his heart they may proceed and do his Glenn the same day! I will know more about it next week, kinda nervous an scared! Dominic had an xray done to see if he has pneumonia and Ill have the results tomorrow. His lungs look clear but the radiologist will discuss their findings over phone. As for our little 23 week micro Natasha, shes advanced for her adjusted age and above average for problem solving. Proud momma of my miracles no matter what they endure they come out fighting. Purely blessed 😊 💙🙏
