So after a buzzing day yesterday today started out really well. Hearty breakfast en famille, a stroll in the sunshine & a boat trip on the Thames. Then it started to go pear-shaped! First there was the massive storm we got caught in walking back to the hotel after lunch, then there was the signal equipment that got struck by lightning near Reading and delayed all trains in and out of Paddington, then there was the stifling hot journey home packed like sardines for two hours (M & L stood in the aisle the whole way home). To top it all off we got home to find our fridge-freezer in the garage had broken down in our absence and we had to dispose of all the contents! What a day.
