So after a lovely brekkie this morning I ventured over the rainbow - TopicsExpress

So after a lovely brekkie this morning I ventured over the rainbow bridge into Canada....it was really really really cold. I thought yesterday I was just a natural in the cold, you know I got this....turns out yesterday was actually the warmest day all winter. I can honestly say I have never felt cold like it, I now understand the phrase bone chillingly cold as I felt like I was freezing from the inside out but I pressed on and am very glad I did. The view of the falls is definitely better from the Canadian side as you get a more complete picture, and Queen Victoria Park was charming....with its lamps and maze gardens it was magical, felt like I had finally stumbled into Narnia:) I then made my way to Skylon tower, the 4d theatre there was amazing but I hope they dont have cameras in there as it was a little too real at times and had me jumping around in my seat lol. The trip up the tower in the glass elevator was so much fun and the view was spectacular. I have to admit though that besides a smashing lunch, I wasnt that enchanted with the rest of Canadian Niagara and I am very glad I ignored all advice and stayed on the US side. Clifton Hill is the main drag of this area and its loud and crowded and gaudy and while I am sure it is perfect for families I much prefer the quieter new york side. In Clifton Hill, you couldnt look out the windows and watch the rapids, you dont have the constant roar of the falls in the background, you dont see squirrels running everywhere as you walk....I may be crazy but thats what I came for not amusement parlours so I was very glad to cross back across the border and into the quiet and natural beauty of niagara with the background humming of the falls everywhere:)
