So after liking Suzanne Atkinsons status, I get to lay out 8 things people dont know about me. (Some do, though…) 1. I never envisioned being athletic AT ALL, EVER and now I coach. 2. I won Jr. Best in Show at the Lancaster County hobby show when I was in first grade with my rock animals/people. My Aunt Martha and Mom got me into it. 3. Bought my first crystal at that show. I still love rocks. I used to hunt monkey gold under a particular tree in our neighborhood in Lancaster and wed crack it open with hammers. And we had a great big hunk of quartz in our back yard. Kind of wish Id dug it out when we moved. 4. Played with the Kirov Ballet and for the Moiseyev Ballet and fell in love with everything Russia. Learned to speak some and then went to the Cello Conference in St. Petersburg. I left a cello bow in a taxi in St. P. rushing to catch the overnight train to Moscow. They tracked me down and sent the bow to my hotel in Moscow. Unbelievable. 5. After a show at Wolf Trap, Johnny Mathis came up behind me to thank the entire orchestra. He touched me on the shoulder. I was so taken aback by how kind he was that I could never dislike his vibrato again. 6. I took Rostropovich out to dinner at Ledos. He didnt seem quite so intimidating eating corned beef. 7. I have found that cats and kids have made me a better person. I cry and laugh more because of them. I think a few people know that. 8. I probably enjoy espresso a little too much. If you want me to give you a number to do the same exercise, you are welcome to like and I will. Guess that is part of the deal! No need to actually do it but--kind of fun.
