So again, for the tenth time, my Yale classmate, Thomas Newman was nominated for best original score, but didnt win an Oscar. He is the son of Alfred Newman and cousin of Randy, so I wonder if people resent the fact that he had an easy entry into the profession. So what - he is amazing: American Beauty, Finding Nemo, WALL E for gods sake, Saving Mr. Banks, REvenge of the Nerds, Shawshank Redemption and the list goes on.
