So, again the two star-crossed lovers are forced to trudge forward, enduring what they have to endure to reach their hard-sought end game of ultimate freedom. But its not an easy task, and some serious bumps are in their road. Needless to say, both Cole and Sera are getting pretty fed up. *winces* As Sera watched Cole grappling furiously, with that beast’s mouth attached to his throat, a righteous rage surged deep within her. Teeth clenched, she reached down and tried to pry the vile thing off. Not only did it not budge, but sank its teeth deeper. Cole roared in pain. Heart pounding, her fiery glare shot to Guido, sitting casually with a smirk at his desk. “You will do nothing?” she screeched. “Call that rabid beast off him at once!” The birdman laughed, smugly twining his fingers behind his big yellow head. Sera’s blood boiled into lava. Facing off with the tyrant, she leveled him a killing stare. “I shall say this only once, so heed my warning. If you do not stop this madness right here and now, I will torch your nest into the ground!” His haughty grin vanished, every muscle going taut. Eyes flashing, he looked as though he was debating whether or not to call her bluff. Cole let out another furious shout. Sera gasped, glancing down to watch him roll over atop his foe. But no matter what maneuver he tried, he couldn’t wrench the creature off his neck. Sera started to panic. Why was he not snapping his fingers? Oh, God! Why was he not snapping! Her wide-eyed, glare shot back to Guido, but the repugnant male merely shrugged. Was that a fresh smirk curving his lips? Snap went Sera’s restraint. “That’s it!” she shrieked, pointing at Cole. “No one dines on that demon but me!” Her accusing finger shot next to Guido. “You had your warning, Mr. Canary! Behold, a seraph retribution!” Head snapping back, her arms shot out as her body erupted in light. Instantly, the twig-strewn walls began to snap-crackle-pop. Cole’s strangled shout echoed through the din. “No, Sera, no!” But it was too late. As wings of white fire exploded from her back, a searing glow tore from her eyes. All around them, every leaf, branch and sprig ignited into a frenzy of flames.
