So as we lay here all huddled together the three of us on our sides Yet you are the only one of us that is actually inside While mummy sleeps, her breathing is deep you wriggle and fight for more space I place my hand around her tummy and cant wait to see your face The way you turn youre already strong Thats perhaps why mummys so tired An inner strength to keep you growing for which only a woman can be admired All I can do is keep you both safe until we get to the day that I drop all as I get the call; Get the car, hes on his way! The journey begins in so many ways Avoiding the bumps in the road Wanting to speed to get there right now But Im aware of my fragile load Excitement and fear all wrapped up in one all three hearts pounding like drums Then through the door and down the corridor lined with expectant mums Despite the bright lights, the doctors, the nurses and all the equipment in view When I hold your hand and look in your eyes it feels like its just me and you This just got real, the pain starts to show and I wish I could do something more to take all your pain or at least some of the strain but instead I just watch you in awe A few hours later and here you are Trembling, and cold, and scared But dont worry son, you have the best mum and a family thats so well prepared As we both hold you close for the first time in daylight We can feel your love burn into our soul For you are the one when all said and done That will make our entire world whole Love you already Indie Marshall xxxxx Jessica Marie Latham
