So back in the mid to late 90s, early 00s I was all about some raw ass, thumpin, low tuned Korn. I absolutely cannot get into anything after Issues. How a band can play these songs and still show me their best performance Ive ever seen, and one of the best overall is beyond me. Head is one of the best showmen Ive seen in many years of awesome concerts. I will catch flack for this, but I dont care, at times, they showed that they could be heavier and tighter than anyone on that bill....by playing cheesy hits. Jonathan Davis was throwin in some death metal sounding vocals in parts that blew me away, there were even blast beats. If they wanted, they could be brutally heavy, i never really have seen that from them before. I couldnt stand Jonathan Davis a year ago, dude was on it. Head brings a life back into that band that puts them at their peak performance wise. As many people know, Im a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan, so I was curious as to how they could follow up such a powerful, crowd invigorating performance. Turns out, probably the best 1-2 punch of bands Ive ever seen on a bill. Two totally different beasts but they work so well together. Those who think the two arent metal enough for Mayhem, pretty much were shown up. That is how bands should treat their fans, put it all out there. I noticed all the fans that were there for real metal ironically didnt leave until Ax7 was finishing up, and almost every being in there had their hands up high with devil horns, 25,000 or so. So whoever on the tour is talkin smack about those bands, got humiliated. They will surely be back on the club circuit when summer is over, playing at flea markets and whatnot, while those bands not metal enough continue to give thousands of fans their monies worth each and every show. P.s. Asking Alexandria sucks. How the hell they got that #3 spot is beyond me. Singer is a douche bag. Their big stage props of A. A. are the lamest thing Ive seen at a show of this magnitude. I would rather go to an AA meeting. They didnt belong... the two bands after them made them look like spoiled, rich, mommas boys shipped off to Rock School. I highly suggest catching Korn here in Louisville on October 4th. For me to say they are way better than when I was a huge fan is really saying something. I just wish they would write heavier tunes, but when you can do whatever you want and bring the house down, then thats just what they will do. I feel like I should give them and A7x some extra money. Thank you for a REAL rock show and being about pleasing the masses. Amazed and blown away. Didnt see that coming,
