So bad news: I got a call from my nutritionist my gastroenterologist referred me to. Found out my insurance will not cover it since my gastroparesis is not tied to diabetes. They cost 185 an hour. Called the other nutritionists on the Humana website one I left a voicemail for, one didnt have a voicemail set up and the last double checked my insurance and verified the inevitable. Her cost is 120 an hour. Awesome al out of pocket so I dont become anymore malnourished than I am since I have not eaten any vegetables in a long while. I dont know how I can without crawling in a ball and wanting to die to stop the stomach pain. I eat fruit in the form of baby food mixed with applesauce since I the texture of straight baby god makes me gag. Good news: the nutritionist that I left the voicemail for left me a voicemail while I was still at work. She said she was an expert in finding foods that work with those that have gastro issues. She is well aware what gastroparesis is and knows the idea of the diet I can have. Her cost is 85 an hour. I set up an appointment. Thank you God that the expert in the field I am in with nutrition is the one that is the least expensive. Her reason for it was she didnt want to turn anyone away who needed dietary help. I like her
