So basically anyone with better than a high school education, with the exception of a handful of teacher per year, cant find jobs in the state of Hawaii because most up and coming companies move to the mainland the moment they reach a certain size. One of the things Don is trying to do here is to build a high tech base of employers, which is why hes gotten involved in the Thirty Meter Telescope. The people building it are bringing in billions of dollars and the possibility of more high tech employers. Theyve had to jump through hoops and jump through hoops and jump through hoops -- usually stopped by a handful of protestors. They finally got all the okays, and went to do a breaking ground that included all the native Hawaiians -- and they were blocked by protestors again. Whats more annoying is that theyre posting in my local feeds Im so proud of stopping it but no indication why they acted. It really makes it seem that theyre reacting without even knowing much about the issue.
