So before you watch this, please read what Im about to say. Yesterday, I failed miserably. I was driving down the road, talking on the phone about some stupid church stuff that was happening. This stuff had affected me so bad that my stomach hurt with the pain of what was done to me. It was bothering me so bad that I couldnt eat and my stomach hurt so bad that I couldnt stand up straight. While on the phone, I saw a guy that attends Save the Cowboy once in a while on the side of the road. This guy is homeless (I think) and was trying to hitchhike back to Kiowa...at least that is the direction his thumb was pointing. I slowed down to give him a ride, but then I would have had to end the conversation about the really crappy stuff that was happening. There was a lot of traffic and I was not in a convenient place to turn around. So I drove on and continued my conversation. I chose talking about church problems over helping someone...and I have tears in my eyes as I write this. Im sure before its all over with, the tears will have spilled down my cheeks. And thats ok. I teach people to love others and I didnt do it myself. By writing this, Im asking for yalls forgiveness as well as my Dads (God). When I see this man again, I will profusely beg his forgiveness. I will tell him exactly what happened and make no excuses. I am held to a higher standard and I failed. Do not follow that example. Do not let stupid church stuff get in the way of love. Do not let stupid church stuff get in the way of helping. Do not let stupid church stuff get in the way of caring. Do not let stupid church stuff get in the way of giving. I will never let stupid church stuff get in the way again. If you attend Save the Cowboy in person or online, you have every right to no longer listen to me...I feel that strongly about this. You have every right to leave this page and never look back...I wouldnt blame you. But this will never happen again... Once again, I ask your forgiveness. Sincerely, Kevin Weatherby
