So comet Ison got cooked by the sun once again proving that you do not fly too close to 5 billion year old nuclear fusion reactors in space (take note Icarus). It is an interesting thought that if you follow the energy back then were all living in a nuclear fusion powered ecosystem. Its true that the solar system was formed from the remnants of an exploding star leading to the famous phrase were all made of star dust. That is very cool, but something that I find a bit nicer a thought is that our sun had a parent star. After that star exploded it made our solar system including a daughter star, our sun. Then the sun bathed some of its own parents left over remnants in enough energy to create complex life. Now that is cool to me.
