So, do any of you, in addition to your ferments, also make sourdough bread? I have tried a number of things, but cant get mine to rise decently. In addition to the ferments weve added, my husband wants to try sourdough bread to see if that agrees with him better than the regular stuff. Only problem is, sourdough is one of the few kitchen games Ive failed at repeatedly. It wont rise, or if it does, it tastes *really* sour. Or various other problems. Most of the websites Ive looked at are too technical- bakers percents are a thing I have neither time nor inclination to mess with. I can make plain white bread with no recipe, Ive done it so many times. Wheat bread takes a bit more concentration, but I can do it. Sourdough? Im definitely missing something important. Ideas? Tips? Pointers?
