So enterprise car rental is venturing into renting motorcycles, Harleys to be exact. They are charging $130-$160 a day. At the lower price they are making @$3900 a month if one is rented all 30 days, or just over $46000a year with the same assumption. If you figure they are financing the bike over 5 years the rental income would cover the cost of the bike, upkeep and maintenance, as well as insurance (not counting supplemental insurance the renter can purchase). This sounds like a heck of a money making idea. Makes one think of the possabilities. What do you think Hunter Scarpa, Brad Devine, Bobby Rinehart? I think with the right financial backing this could be a great opportunity for a start up. Especially in Austin with the international draw of our new Circuit of the Americas.
