So every one is doing the ice bucket challenge to raise money for ALS so I decided to call of my close friends that is one the leaders of the NAACP like my self to ask ask the board if we can raise money for the awareness by doing the ice challenge on campus at U of M and getting ppl to come out and help support if any one is wondering what Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrigs Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed. Doctors have no clue how you can get this anyone can get affected.im just asking for ppl with a heart to help support this disease I take everything and learn from it simply because it could be me or one of my family members and close friends with the disease so Im praying the NAACP lets us raise money to find a cure. Steve Gleason is a former NFL player who was diagnosed with ALS this man gets up everyday and go to work and keeps a smile on his face if he can do it nobody should have an excuse why they cant accomplish the right things in life, serious stuff dont hit folks til something bad happens to them change the way yall think ....
