So everyone is excited that Edward Snowden the hero will be speaking at the South By Southwest Interactive Festival. I feel like Im in the minority, but I think he is far from a hero; I believe hes a traitor. Does it not bother people that he sought and received temporary asylum in Russia, which is where he will be appearing from? You have to have asked yourself, at what cost to US national security was granted asylum. Surely no one believes the Russian govt did this out of the goodness of its heart. I dont understand how people dont get that now Russia probably knows more about your governments secrets than you do. Is it because many people do not remember the Soviet Union, the cold war, the occupation of countries such as Poland and east Germany after WW2? I dont know, but I think people need to realize that Russia is not our BFF. And really, do you think other countries arent doing their own surveillance? Especially Russia! Does it bother Snowden that he now lives in a country notorious for doing what he supposedly despises? How ironic that Russia is his sanctuary. I could go on, but it would take all day.
