So far Final Fantasy XVs game development is 50% to 60% completed. According to Hajime Tabata, who just took over directing duties for the anticipated sequel, development on the game is about 50% to 60% complete, according to a interview with Game Informer. However, this is largely because work on the game started over pretty much from scratch when Tabata joined the project about 2 years ago, which was also when developer Square Enix started to rework the game for the PlayStation 4 and X-Box One. Final Fantasy XV was originally announced as Final Fantasy Versus XIII back in 2006. After a long period of silence on the role-playing games progress, Square Enix re-revealed it as numbered entry in the storied franchise. Tetsuya Nomura was originally directing, but he recently left the project to focus on Kingdom Hearts III, another long-waited entry in a beloved Square Enix franchise. Square Enix will include a demo for Final Fantasy XV with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, an action-based spin-off of the main series which comes out next March for PlayStation 4 and X-Box One.
