So for March, I ran/walked 35.68 miles. I completed a little over 25% of the challenge. I just finished week 3 of my marathon training. I feel like me again!!!! Im going to rock the April challenge. Since today was absolutely gorgeous, I ran out the door 5 mins after the last kid left. I juggled up the schedule a bit so this would be my long run. I havent run since Wednesday. About a mile in, on Pinecrest, a car full of teenagers (driving way too fast by the way), drove by. The kid in the passenger side, pulled his head out of the car and over the top and yelled, YOURE FAT. My first thought, your parents clearly did not teach you right. My second thought......hmmmm Im damn confident that none of those skinny ass kids driving around like idiots, could work 12 hours, and then, because it was gorgeous out and they wanted to, run/walk 5 miles. I told my son, and he was angry. My husband said, Im sorry. I feel empowered. Im 41 years old, on a knee replacement, FINALLY doing physical things I always wanted and never could. I dont always eat the healthiest. I dont always drink in moderation. Could I be thinner, look better? Ya, probably. Im pretty happy with the combination Im at right now. Im starting to learn to look at myself like the babies I care for look at me. Ive never and never will be short and thin. I certainly cant fix the short, lol. I can be where I want to be physically and mentally happy. Im on the right track. I guess I should thank those kids for making me realize that.
