So for those of you who dont know, one of the side effects of my surgery is that my intestines got disconnected. I have to wear two ostomy pouches on my stomach for the next 3-4 months while the inside of me continues to heal. Its slightly uncomfortable, and I usually roll around with a bag of medical supplies everywhere I go in case theres an emergency. After a lot of tears and feeling generally horrible about myself, I think I finally accepted the bags as part of my recovery. If I appear to be wearing overly baggy clothes, or running to the bathroom every two hours, its just the bags. I just keep telling myself that its temporary.
