So ... for those who believed their insurance rates would not be affected, here is the latest local news: Tennessees largest health insurance provider is asking to raise its rates next year and its not alone. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBS) is looking to raise rates by an average of 19% on the Marketplace under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Cigna plans on a 7.5% increase, while Humana is asking for a 14.4% increase, on its marketplace plans. The rate increases would go into effect in 2015.
