So glad i am qualified in First Aid, never really thought i would have to use it. But that all changed this morning at 3.00am. I heard the biggest bang ever which instantly woke me from my sleep without thinking i just launched myself out of bed ran towards the road where the noise had come from jumped over a brick wall and landed on my feet staring across the Gold Coast highway, what was in front of my bleary eyes was Carnage. There was an an eerie silence always the same after a car crash. Over the other side was a Jeep on its roof in front of power lines which were laying all around the car, wheels rolling down the road as such was the force they had been ripped off. I ran across the highway, i was the second person there first person was on the phone to emergency services. I raced to the car noticing P plates amongst the debris as i got there the driver inside was screaming at me to get her out, air bag had been activated, she was bleeding badly from the nose and wrist but didnt appear to have any other injuries. Now other people had arrived on the scene i asked one guy to make sure no one touched the live wires. After trying to calm the young girl down telling her she was going to be fine i asked for her name to engage her, also needed to ask if anyone else was in the car, she said no. Emergency services were now there, luckily for her they got her out in one piece. During my conversation with her she was pleading with me not to tell her MUM, Truth was she had been drinking blew 0.8 at the scene, inside the car a rum bottle with coke. This young lady wrote off 3 cars in the process, luckily she will live to tell the tale....... many dont!! I didnt do much, but i was able too keep her fairly calm and create a safe enviroment until the services arrived!!! Being a parent is Stressful !!!
