So guys and gals Cornwall is official and the accommodation has now been provisionally booked. The dates are Monday 18th May to Sunday 24th May 2015. There are 11 people confirmed so far, myself, Sandra Reeve, Mark Bellringer, Grant Pinney, Amelia Stoker, Matthew Stanley, Nigel Stanley, Terry Gipps, Elaine Gipps, Peter Horne, John Webber. The price for the accommodation based on the numbers confirmed so far is £145.50 per person which breaks down to just under £21 per night which I think youll all agree is pretty damn good considering its 5* luxury. If the numbers increase then the price per person will decrease and if the numbers get really big then we have provisionally booked the adjoining house so that we can all still mingle no matter the size of the group. As you will see from the link I posted, all bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and look really nice. The houses have a private hot tub, plus outdoor/indoor eating area, 40 tvs etc etc. Myself and Grant wanted this especially because in our opinion its what made Belgium so great. That way if the weather is bad it really wont matter and everyone will still get a nice break away. If the weather is good then its a bonus. On site there is a swimming pool. Spa facilities, Wave rider (for those who want to have a go at surfing but are not keen on going in the sea) restaurants etc etc. The houses are fully self catering with the largest kitchen gadgetry installed. We will arrange a few group meals but these will be optional to attend with the exception of the final supper where myself and Grant would like everyone to attend before we make the tearful journey home and bid Cornwall farewell. We have a route in place which is as follows, M25, M3, A303, A30, M5, A30, A395, A39 and finally B3274. This provisional route will take us past some great scenery and landmarks such as Stonehenge and the Tamar Bridge. Provisional departure time will be 7:00 am on Monday morning from South Mimms services. It is 267 miles to destination and approx 5 hours driving. We will of course break this up with various petrol & rest stops along the way. We will put together an information sheet which will be available at the AGM and we would like a £50 per person deposit no later than the first week of February. You can still come along after this time but the price may vary. You can pay by cash, PayPal, bank transfer, etc etc Deposits paid so far are myself, Sandra, Mark and Matthew Stanley. If you are missing from this list and believe you shouldnt be then please get in touch pronto. Fingers crossed Stewart and Julie, Joe and Fiona will be joining the main party for the final weekend of the trip and I will start praying now that the most important person of all (Mr Shiny yellow ball of Hot Stuff) joins us for the duration of our trip. If you would like any further information or have any questions youd like answered before the AGM or if you will not be attending the AGM then please dont hesitate to give either myself or Grant a call or text on 07915 247607 or 07833 387792 or PM us via FB or just post on the bottom of this thread
