So...have u heard of ebbys cafe alfresco in seaside??? Well we have been going there for years as part of our vacation plans while in seaside park... Until now...we went last.... Food has always been great however last night we waited almost 2 hours for our food after we asked several times for the status of our order. We were told that our ticket was next in line right behind the ticket of another table (who happened to be a noteworthy bridge related politician, who also arrived well after we had been seated and ordered) We had our 14 month old son with us who behaved incredibly well despite the extended wait time. When we asked to speak to a manager or owner we were told he was too busy in the kitchen to speak with us. As we asked for our check without touching our dinners that finally arrived we were challenged by a woman who was eating at another table about our disappointment (turns out she was the owners wife who was there eating with their son). As we were walking out the owner finally came out and gave a lukewarm apology for the delay saying this happens every time this politician frequents the restaurant!?!?!!? We accepted his apology and proceeded to leave, when all of a sudden the owners son muttered a nasty comment at us. When I asked him what he said he responded to me, while I was holding our 14 month old son, get the F#%k out of my restaurant. The altercation remained verbal but escalated to the point where I happily explained to him that his father handled the situation more like a gentleman and that he was inappropriate and out of line and should be embarrassed for speaking to anyone that way...especially in front of a child. Bad form Ebbys youve lost our respect and our business forever!
