So having some issues with speaking because of all my dental stuff - TopicsExpress

So having some issues with speaking because of all my dental stuff for my jaw surgery. Definitely feels like the recovery process is long and tedious. But lets talk about speech disorders from tbi :) Aphasia is difficulty with understanding, and producing spoken and written language. Other difficulties can include having issues with subtle cues of communication like body language and emotions, or non-verbal cues. Non-fluent aphasia/brocade aphasia/motor aphasia is trouble recalling certain words or speaking in complete sentences. Fluent aphasia/sensory aphasia is where you speak in complete sentences and have correct grammar but draw out sentences and make little sense and not aware of it. Most of the time people who suffer from this tend to get angry they arent being understood. Dysarthria is damage in the part of the brain that controls speech muscles. They know how to properly think correct sentences but can not convey it appropriately. Periodic dysfunction is having issues with intonation and inflection.
