So, here is MY Kiss story for the night... At the tender young age of 8, I was given KISS Alive! by my would-be step-dad, who received it as a birtbday gift (he hated Kiss). It was unopened, still shrink-wrapped. From the moment I unwrapped it, I was hooked! I was first introduced to Kiss when my family moved to Georgia from Florida. The new kid in school, I was befriended by a kid in the apartments. After school one day, he asked me if I liked Kiss... I thought he wanted to kiss me! When he explained to me that Kiss was a band and played Destroyer for me, I was blown away. So, I proceeded to wear out the groves on my first Kiss album, and share my exuberance with other friends... did I mention the time I asked my mom to read outloud the liner notes, the hand-written letters in the album fold-out? I was on the phone with a friend, I asked, Mom, can you read these to _____??? She did, totally straight-faced. Didnt skip a word. I never asked her what Ace meant by I get off on you, hope you get off on me....
