So here is a history lesson that just came to me. Im not sure about the factual accountability so dont base any test answers on this. John Hancock was at the pub enjoying a few brews with his constituents. They were discussing the formation of the basis of government when free from English rule. John felt nature calling so he stepped out around the back of the pub to use the pole flying the British flag, a common occurance for this day. As he was doing his business a lightning bolt struck the pole. Everyone in the pub ran out to see what happened. John, laying on the ground was mumbling incoherently, everyone looking down at him as his clothing smoldered and smoke emerged from the front of his pants. Thomas Jefferson bent down toward his friend to try to understand his seemingly incoherent mutterings. After a bit Thomas stood up. Ben Franklin asked,Well, could you understand him? Thomas replied,I believe he is telling us to not be afraid to continue to use the pole. What a patriot. He is mumbling over and over, Wee The Pee Pole! By the way, my grades in US History were below average.
