So here is my outlook on some things, That I see happening and please correct me if I am wrong. We call are self a community well to my understanding is: A community is a social unit of any size that shares common values. Although embodied or face-to-face communities are usually small, larger or more extended communities such as a national community, international community and virtual community are also studied. In human communities, intent, belief, resources, preferences, needs, risks, and a number of other conditions may be present and common, affecting the identity of the participants and their degree of cohesiveness. Since the advent of the Internet, the concept of community has less geographical limitation, as people can now gather virtually in an online community and share common interests regardless of physical location. Prior to the internet, virtual communities (like social or academic organizations) were far more limited by the constraints of available communication and transportation technologies. The word community is derived from the Old French comunete which is derived from the Latin communitas (from Latin communis, things held in common), a broad term for fellowship or organized society.[1] One broad definition which incorporates all the different forms of community is a group or network of persons who are connected (objectively) to each other by relatively durable social relations that extend beyond immediate genealogical ties, and who mutually define that relationship (subjectively) as important to their social identity and social practice. Now ask you self are we just that or are we just a bunch of people trying to be deferent, there is deference. A community is as Defined a group of individuals that are like minded and have the same common goal. Well here it is, I am not in to drama, I believe that everyone should put in their fair share, I don’t like belittling people. I can go on but I think you catch my point. When is the last time you put anything in? When is the last time you went to cassa.org and donated anything, even a dollar? You say you don’t have the money to do this, Well when is the last time you went in to the store and bought a well needed candy bar, or a soda that you could not live without. When is the last time you went to Starbucks and paid 6.00 for a cup of coffee? And you clame to the world you are too broke to buy even e-liquid .I call BULL SHIT. But you want other people to pay for you write to vape. When is the last time you took 30 min. out of your buzzy day to even look at an advocate for smoke free devices website and send them a letter telling them thank you for the hard work you do. Have you ever filled out a petition, wrote your congress person. Or do you just sit behind lip service hoping someone else will step up to the plate. Do you expect only the vendors to do this? Or as a COMMUNITY do you feel the need to fight for your own right. When is the last time you gave up 3 sodas to buy someone claiming they can’t afford to even by e-liquid, Or do you think that is always someone else’s responsibility? You are so happy when a vendor helps someone out and gives. But do you realize that that that they are giving comes out of there pocket? It is not free never was, vendors do that not out of an obligation to this community that don’t even understand the definition. But because they want to help. Ask yourself “How are you helping. Sitting behind a computer whenever you have time and causing drama is not helping. It is destroying the key to a successful community is for everyone involved to pitch in and help to the best of their ability. And I do not as a person fit any of the criteria of most of what I have seen. So I ask myself am I even part of this community, because I am not like minded. Do I want to stay involved with a bunch of people who don’t even understand what it is to help, Only what it is to separate and destroy what could be great. I challenge every one who reads this, To do Two a few things. 1. Write your congress person 2.make a donation to cassa.org (even if it is a dollar) 3. Buy a gift certificate to a vape shop, online or brick and mortar for a fellow vaper that you know is having troubles and give it to them as a selfless gift. (Even if it is for a 10 mL. bottle of e-liquid.) Thank you for reading my rant.
