So here it is: the poem Ive been working on all day. Enjoy. Its called Faith as you can probably tell. --------------------------------- Faith. It is the light When everything is dark and cold And life is a violent storm of endless rain When the only way forward is through the fray And insurmountable mountains rise to block our path Even when we can’t make out the faint glimmer of a new dawn. Faith. It is the flame When a cold world contradicts such a spark And frigid winds cut to our heart and take our warmth When the land is nothing but frozen tundra and barren of life And the wintry winds threaten to extinguish our fires and rid of our heat Even when the flame itself seems to dwindle to a glowing ember in the palm of our hands. Faith. It is in the Cross When our stony hearts needed a flicker of life And the light of salvation illuminated the earth and sky When the Flame of Life kindled the dying cinders in our souls And ignited a blaze that burns brighter than any we have ever known Even when all the shadow in the world tries to snuff it out, it won’t prevail. Faith. It points to a place where darkness dares not to go It guides the way to the unassailable fortress of eternity And with it we can tell those who ask about the torch we carry We show them to the Cross, which can spark life in the coldest of hearts And begin a wildfire in a world where warmth and light are becoming nonexistent Because with faith no storm is unending, no darkness is without light, and no mountain is immovable.
