So here we have another 9 lb dog who folks at Manhattan ACC can’t see to figure out how to handle. For that, 14 year old Coco is on tomorrow’s euthanasia list and since they figure nobody else could figure it out, he’s New Hope only. In decent health when he came in, Coco’s only issue might be that he’s cryptorchid so a vet would have to take a look to see if there are any issues. And while he absolutely hated being “positioned” during his behavioral eval, Coco absolutely aced the rest of the items including resource guarding and dog on dog item. Tonight, little Coco is pleading for someone to take him out of that tiny cage he’s been sitting in 24 x7 for all these days. All he wants is to go someplace where he can run and play when he want, flopt down and take naps when he wants, commandeer somebody’s lap and just generally be the royal prince a 14 year old Maltese should be. A senior little dog like Coco might be a little too overwhelmed in a household with little kids. And his owner said he never liked being picked up too much—so somebody who will just be Coco’s slave and let him decide when he wants to be a little baby would be great. If that’s you, then start applying to rescues to foster or adopt Coco. But don’t think that at noon tomorrow ACC will reconsider—they’ll just make Coco gone forever.
