So, heres a first. Im walking home from park after my run and I see a block ahead of me a gentleman and a little girl standing on the corner. Im thinking father and daughter out for a walk. I get up to them just about the time she turns down my road and starts running. He asks, Is she yours?. I said, no, shes not yours?. He says No. Now we are chasing her (maybe 4,...maybe!) down the road now and hes telling me he saw her run out of one of the townhouses up at the front and hes wondering if something bad was going on in there. We chase her about a block before I grab her and start walking back. She starts kicking and screaming and hitting me then so I just sit down on the curb and hold her. I keep telling her I cant let her just run down the road. He goes back to knock on the door and I know were both thinking if its something bad, well just call the cops, even after the fact. I had her name and he knew the house. He comes back and there is Mom and Dad and the women, I presume, they were visiting running down the road to me. Little girl, I thought you were toast! You cant just run out the door like that. The little girl is telling her where she wants to go. I hand her to the Mom and said I chased her and had to catch her running down the road. She said thanks and I said dont thank me, thank the gentleman over there who caught her running on Jones Road (a MUCH busier road). Dear Lord,..........how does your three-four year old get out of the house and run down the road for like 5 minutes, while we are chasing and hollering at her every time she runs in to the road to get back up on the grass......and you dont miss her? What if it hadnt been two nice people trying to save her from being hit by a car? OMG!!!....is all I can say. OMG!
