So heres a press release from the incredible Grammy-award winning Carolina Chocolate Drops. Were all getting ready to hit the road together in December for a very special US tour. At the end of these dates, Dom Flemons will be embarking on a solo career and two new musicians - cellist Malcolm Parson and multi-instrumentalist Rowan Corbett - will join Rhiannon Giddens and Hubby Jenkins in the New Year for a full run of dates! Yep, our percussionist Rowan Corbett is joining the Carolina Chocolate Drops! Dont panic! Well see him again - but for the moment hes gearing up for a VERY busy 2014 which will include at least about 6 months of tour dates with the Drops. And so were taking our last full band show of the year, 12/21 - ilyAIMY at the New Deal Cafe and joining forces with Rowans other longest-running act Tinsmith ( Brooke Parkhurst and Henry N Cross ) to do a very special au revoir (not goodbye) show. Were so proud of Rowan that hes getting this huge opportunity - were so excited that hes finally joining the truly big leagues. Well Love him and well miss him, but thatll just mean his future shows with us are all the sweeter. As the calendar stands now, we have two more shows with Rowan Corbett - 11/23 - ilyAIMY at Teavolve Cafe & Lounge and December 21st at the New Deal Café – Greenbelt, MD. Lets make both shows a big damn party.
