So... heres a topic that you dont see me talk about ever: misogyny. In my opinion, everyone should be treated as equals. Everyone can agree there, correct? (If you dont agree with that, tell me so I can delete you!) Misogynists are horrible people, as are homophobes and racists alike. I will say that first and foremost. I will be the first person to defend a womans rights and ensure that they have just as much as men have. I also believe that all women should be respected. However, rights and respect are two different things. Everyone have rights. But is everyone entitled to respect? Hell, no. Women are respected just for being women as they are a vital part of human reproduction and bear many more burdens than men. (I wont pretend that I know everything about women and what it is like to be a women, but I know that it is a hell of a lot harder to be a man.) Heres where I express my opinion and I hope no one hates me for it. I will be the first to open a door for you if you are a women, but I will also hold doors open for men. I would never beat a woman, and I also would never beat a man. Im all for respecting women for doing their lives and bearing the burdens that men will never have to experience, but heres where I question everything about misogyny and the fight for human rights: (Again, this is just my opinion and you are free to express yours in the comments, but please dont hurt me! D:) Women can lose my respect. If I am disrespected by a woman when I show them respect, I will slam the door right in their face rather than hold it open for them. I would never beat a woman (or man) because Im a pacifist and I hate violence, but if you treat me like scum of the earth when Ive been nothing but nice, you dont just lose respect as a woman in my book. You look respect as a human being. Many women talk themselves up. Im not saying that all women do this, in fact, I cant name very many at all by name that do this. However, I live on the internet and it is something that Ive seen in my life in the past, so I /do/ speak for experience. These women dont want to be treated as equals to men. They want to be superior. Thats a horrible way to act and that makes these women no better than the men that try to take away their rights. Another thing that Ive noticed, is that some women will hit men and relish in the reality that their morals are too high to hit her back (as they should be). This ties in with some women feeling superior to men. This type of behavior is despicable and I cant believe that people actually act this way. I will defend every woman in the world and join them on the way to equality. I feel like I can relate there, because, I fight for equality myself. I will also gives women more respect because of the fact that women live harder lives and Im sympathetic toward that. HOWEVER, disrespect me, and you lose your respect. I will not treat you with respect if you dont give me the same courtesy. Women deserve all of the rights that men are born with... but that doesnt mean that they are entitled to respect no matter what. (I feel like Ive made my point! Share your thoughts below! :D)
