So, heres the story my sisters....My real sister, Marla Kramer Behrman, a resident of New York City, West Palm Beach and the Hamptons, swindled my mother out of over $200,000 12 years ago. She was homeless after pissing through a very large divorce settlement from her second marriage and was literally penniless. She hoodwinked my mother into investing in a home in Easthampton (in the townie area) during the flipping years in the early 2000s. My mother borrowed some money from an annuity she had and suffered a penalty for early withdrawal to invest in this home, paid the mortgage for two years, only to be taken advantage of and never received a dime from the proceeds. Subsequent to the sale of the home, my sister met a wealthy older retired doctor from NYU who she married. She then estranged herself from my mother by sending her an awful hurtful letter teling her that she wanted nothing to do with her ever again. Her husband passed away 3 years ago and my sister inherited millions of dollars. However, that was not quite enough and she pursued legal action against the stepson of her late husband to receive the IRA money that had been set aside for his second wifes sons and grandchildren. Through a loophole, she won and now has a substantial amount of money and owns homes in West Palm, NYC and the Hamptons. Meanwhile, my mother is now in need of financial support, in her elder years and my sister flatly refuses to give her a dime despite requests for the last 3 years to assist with my mothers care needs. I have tried to negotiate with her to send money each month to her assisted living facility to no avail. I cannot believe this shameful behavior. All of this is true and a matter of public record so I am not defaming anyone. All is true. If you live in NYC, know her or know anyone her knows her - spread the word. Oh, forgot to mention, she denies she has a mother or a sister. She tells her friends and acquaintances that her mother is dead. She is embarrassed by her background being the child of Holocaust survivors. I believe she has made up an alternate family history and in effect denies her background. Meanwhile I am my mothers sole support in every way. Funny how life throws you some really ugly curveballs - from your own family.
