So heres the thing... I always get asked by couples what sort of things we go through at our final onsite meeting & rehearsal.. Well, one of the important things we discuss at the onsite meeting is how you expect the ceremony area will be set up? Why? Because surprisingly, 9 times out of 10, when I arrive at a park or garden before the wedding, its not set up the same way you described it to me at our onsite meeting. So, as the host of the proceedings, I at least get to check everything out and if required, change it so that it DOES meet your expectations... In fact, its exactly why I choose to arrive at the venue an hour before the ceremony. Because I want to make sure that your wedding, which weve been working on together for the last 12 months, is everything you were hoping for. I want to make sure that the photos are perfectly symmetrical and the photographer doest have to work to hard to get an awesome shot. But mostly, because I take pride in what I do and I want to ensure that every piece of the wedding puzzle fits together perfectly. Case in point - Jodie & Petes wedding on the weekend. Jodie really only had one specific instruction from the onsite meeting; I want to get married right in front of the big tree... So of course you can imagine my disappointment when I arrived to find 80 chairs set up almost in front of the big tree. Why? Who knows... But 20 minutes later, after a little huffing and puffing, Id managed to get every chair lined up for a far more picturesque photo. Its not rocket science, however it is a bit of hard work. But I believe that if youre going to take someones hard earned money to help them celebrate the biggest day of their lives, you should be happy to put a bit of effort in... Its what were there for...
