So hey, I dont post things like this too often. Rarely, in fact. But I feel like I need to point out something thats fairly important to me. Most of you who know me know how thin I am, but most dont know why. Its called Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome. I know, big scary words. Its one of the rarest Gastrointestinal disorders in the world. It has a 1-3 chance of mortality. There is no Charity for it, there is no special hospital that caters to those who suffer from it and there is no cure. Worse still in my opinion is that there is no awareness. The only folks who know of SMAs are those who are friends and family to those who are (or worse off, were) suffering from it. The estimated amount of people who suffer from this disorder is 0.013%. MINISCULE number. So from Tuesday to Thursday is SMA awareness day(s), Im not asking you to repost this. If you do youre pretty awesome. Im just getting the awareness out there. Who knows who we can help by getting the knowledge out there. And if you own some purple throw it on for a day or two. I know I will.
