So how many banners are there in the gym? Ahem, excuse me...WERE there in the gym? I know there had to be at least two. I was a proud part of those teams that brought these first ever State Titles home for the Plankinton Pirates (golf-1997) & Plankinton-White Lake Warriors (football-1996). My two cents: to have these banners just simply removed (for their COLOR? What are we racist?) from their rightful place in the gym (please reference any other high school in the nation on that one) seems to be an honest disservice and slap in the face to myself, teammates, & good friends who worked so hard to accomplish those feats. Now, I entirely understand wanting to feel pride and being current with the colors and mascot, but at the same time there also needs to be a healthy dose of respect for the past, and great teams from the past. Has the MVP co-op produced any state titles to this point? If not, maybe theres a simple solution to satisfy everyone: leave the banners up in the gym until MVP can put one up themselves.
